            Carl H. Legett Memorial Fishing Tournament

                                  TOURNAMENT Rules


All Anglers on the boat must be entered.

All anglers must be registered by 12:01 A.M. Friday July 31st, 2009. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER THIS TIME!!!

Fish will be weighed at the following times at the Point Cadet Marina, Biloxi

                      Friday, July 31st          5pm to 9pm
                      Saturday, Aug 1st       5pm to 9pm
                      Sunday, Aug 2nd         2pm to 6pm(scales close promptly at 6pm)
                                                              Awards ceremony will follow at 7pm

Shrimp boil for tournament anglers, Sunday 3pm to 6pm

Participants are responsible for the disposal of their fish.
Weight of fish will be in pounds & ounces.

In the event of a tie, the first fish weighed in is the winner.

THE WEIGHMASTER'S DECISION IS FINAL.
Fish that appear to have been harpooned, frozen, mutilated, shot, or netted may be refused (Flounders may be gigged). All fish are subject to test by torrymeter.

In case of inclement weather, one day fishing will constitute a complete tournament. Any 8-hour period without small craft warnings will constitute one day.

Participants enter at their own risk.  The tournament and any individual person connected in any way with the tournament, be it as an employee or volunteer, shall be held harmless for any and all losses,damages, negligence, harm, or injury to anyone or any property for any reason.

Any fish entered in any other fishing event will be disqualified.

Anyone found to be in violation of the tournament rules may be disqualified.

All fish entered for prize consideration must comply with all fishing laws of the State of Mississippi.

All contestants found to be in violation of this tournament or previously determined to have violated any other fishing tournament’s rules shall result in the disqualification of the contestants, and none of them shall be eligible to win any prizes.

A polygraph test may be required for insurance purposes.

Anyone wishing to protest a decision by the weighmaster must enter the protest in writing before 7:00 pm, Sunday August 3, 2008. All written protest will be considered by a protest committee of no less than 4 tournament directors. The protest must be accompanied by a $100 deposit.

The decision of the Directors is FINAL.

Participants shall be eligible to win only one prize per fish category.

Mandatory Captains meeting on Thursday, July 30th at 7 p.m. for Bluewater Division.

                       BLUEWATER DIVISION
                    RULES

                                       $1000 FEE PER BOAT

All FisherMen on blue water division boats Must be entered in $75.00
tournament to be eligible to enter a Fish in that division.

Prize amounts listed are based on 25 boat entries. In the event of
lesser boats entered, 90% of entry Fees will be divided                        
accordingly in Prize Categories.

Any fish entered in any other fishing event will be disqualified.

Participants of the tournament enter at their own risk. The
tournament and any individual person connected in any way with
the tournament, be it as an employee or volunteer, shall be held
harmless for any and all losses, damages, negligence, harm, or
injury to anyone or any property for any reason.

You are required to be in possession of a tuna permit For your
boat in order to land and possess any tuna. This is a Federal law.         
Tournament officials will request presentation of your permit at
weigh in. information may be obtained from the NMFS.

Wahoo, Dolphin, Yellow Fin Tuna 20 lb minimum weight.

Registration must be completed by the captain, the owner of the registered boat, or a registered angler.
A mandatory captains or owners meeting will be held at 7:00 P.M. during the tournament's Captain's Party, Thursday July 30, 2009, at the Isle of Capri Casino. Rule changes, if any, will be discussed at
this meeting.
